Halo 3 a video game for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 created by Bungie studios. In the first week of its release it grossed over 300 million dollars. (Halo 3, 2007) Halo 3 was anticipated by gamers worldwide ever since Halo 2 was released.

Halo 3 is set in a futuristic universe in the year 2550. The storyline follows the Master Chief a super soldier fighting for the UNSC (United Nations Space Command). The master Chief is civilizations last weapon against the Covenant. The covenant are an alliance of alien species bent on the destruction of mankind. The Covenant follow a cast system much like the ones in medieval time. The Shyuum or the Prophets are the highest ranking in the cast sytem. The Prophets are thought of as religious figures by the lower species of the Covenant. The Sangheili or Elites the second highest ranking. The Elites are the core of the Covenant military. The Jiralhanae or Butes are on the same level as the Elites, their primary purpose is military. Kig-Yar or the Jackals are used as snipers in the Covenant army. Lekgolo or Hunters are the most powerful species of Covenant. They stand at 12’ feet tall and carry massive shields to crush enemies. Unggoy or Grunts are the lowest in the caste system. They are big in numbers and are used as cannon fooder by the Elites.
