Ryan air info?

I am flying from Frankfurt to Rome in November. I purchased tickets online. Anyone with experience with this airline offer advice? Do I need to get actual printed tickets or is my e-ticket enough? I have heard they aren't the most reliable airline.

  1. I have had no problems with the Ryan Air ticketing system or any other part of their flights. For 'Budget' airline they do a decent job. I am sure they are a few horror stories, but my experiences have been positive. Passport and print off of ticket are all you should need.

NOTE: You do know that Ryan Airlines normally flies out of Frankfurt Hahn Airport, and that is NOT the airport located near the city of Frankfurt. OR, is your flight out of the Frankfurt airport? Please verify that!

  2. I had no problems with them flying out of Hahn.  Just get yourself to Hahn and bring your tickets (e- or otherwise) /passport/baggage/etc.

And understand that they don't fly directly to the major cities.  Like Frankfurt, they'll fly to a smaller airport probably 30-60min outside of Rome.  Expect to have to get on a train or a bus to actually get to Rome--look at what airport you're going to and look up info on it.  If you have questions...well, Ryanair is a British company, so give them a call or email and get with them.

I flew from Frankfurt (Hahn) to Barcelona (Girona) and Barcelona was like an hour away from the airport.  Hahn was in between where I lived and Frankfurt so it actually worked out pretty well for me.

And if you drive yourself to Hahn...realize that it's an old airbase.  Be ready to park in long-term parking out around aircraft hangars and such...no biggie though...just show up early and ride the busses to the right terminal.  It isn't that big of a place, but you'll probably not want to walk from the long(er) term parking to the terminal.

  3. I've had nothing but great success with Ryanair.  I can't remember for sure, but I think I just took my passport and a print off of my itinerary to the airport and they gave me my boarding pass when I checked in.  Bon voyage.
