I just booked a flight with Ryanair and found at the end they had charged me 6.40 pounds for a passenger fee? I clicked to check in online so what on earth is this fee?

  1. Probably for fuel!

  2. I know. They have all these hidden charges. Michael O'Leary - the head of Ryanair was on BBC Breakfast this morning and he was fighting with the presenter over the hidden charges which he claims they don't have when they obviously do.

I got charged for that too. It's probably another way of paying for the fuel or something.

  3. They charge for all sorts of things...could be a check in fee, food, or some fuel surcharge....should say of the website.

  4. Hello,

I work at Newcastle airport, and we actually handle Ryanair, i work as passenger service agent, and very familar with all of Ryanairs crazy charges!

Right....it could be a few things, such as proirity boarding, i wont be able to tell unless i actually see your confirmation letter. As you are a check'n'go passenger, it means that you havent paid for airport check, so the only thing i could suggust is some government tax. Other things could be priority boarding, as with check'n'go now you dont get it as standard, its an extra charge.

  5. Its possibly for food on board.

  6. A mystery. You are a passenger, so a passenger fee is part of the ticket price. So much for low prices, those days are over, but it is dishonest of Ryanair to hide extra charges in the booking process. Not fair on the less street savvy.

  7. Anyone who as travelled Ryanair will have experienced these hidden fees which basically are just another profit that 99p flight you booked. Not long ago I paid £35 airport tax that a friend in that country assured me was not applicable to that airport.

In order to keep down the cost my next little jaunt with Ryanair will be to a nudist colony.
