Ryder Cup 2010; Tiger earns praise from Stricker and Johnson
Tiger has started earning praises from his team members before the actual fourball session which is due on Friday. Sean Foley’s guidance seems to be paying off before the Ryder Cup results, as Tiger turned on his
magic in the first two practice sessions. To appreciate his hard work and dedication, Steve Stricker and Zach Johnson congratulated Tiger Woods.
According to Steve Stricker, Tiger Woods has been misunderstood and negatively criticized by the media when it comes to the Ryder Cup. In reality, he deserves praise for the humongous amount of motivation he has
managed to muster. He added, that Tiger was a changed man from the Tiger he knew in the 2002 Ryder Cup. In 2002, he was found saying that he would have to think of a million reasons on why he should win the Ryder Cup. Those reasons which he had famously put
down in front of the media revolved around a winner’s cheque and his personal interests.
However, today all he says goes in the favour of the team. He is talking positively and his actions speak louder than words. Never before in a Ryder Cup, had Tiger Woods disclosed his tricks to reach the pin but today morning,
when he got paired with Hunter Mahan, he tried his best to wipe the negative tag off. He coached Mahan and literally tried to make the player stand in his shoes, but unfortunately, Mahan failed to pick up the swings. Stricker says that, he has witnessed a
change in Tiger’s attitude. His motivation is higher than last time and he is as eager as anyone of them out there to win the title for the second time in a row.
Talking about his partnership with the world number one, Stricker said, that though he was not certain about their pair on the final day but, by far he enjoyed playing with him. Stricker and Woods had a partnership in the 2006
Ryder Cup and after that they met again at the President Cup where they won all the four matches. He further added, that both the players give each other a tough time so that it becomes easier to make good tough shots. Moreover, he enjoyed playing with Tiger
when he got stuck in tight spots and fell that Tiger doesn’t let him down.
The next player to praise Tiger Wood’s effort is Zach Johnson. According to him, Tiger will be in the zone for this week's Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor. The 34-year-old says that Tiger is equally focused like any
of the team members and determined with his golf clubs and the title, that is why he is here at Celtic Manor.
Johnson and company were welcomed by heavy rain this morning as they prepared for a second day of official practice prior to Friday's opening fourballs. Although, it is due to clear in few hours, but more difficult conditions are
expected in the upcoming week on a par 71, Twenty Ten course. As for the course, it is known as one of the most challenging courses of the world and specifically it is testing rough which famously makes life tougher for the world's top golfers.
Talking to the press, Matt Kuchar, one of five Ryder Cup rookies in Pavin's team, said, that he was not expecting such a difficult course with length and rough, combined together to make low scoring unachievable. On the other
hand, he said, that he had a fair idea that the course had been designed for the Ryder Cup therefore, it was not old fashioned.
Finally Tiger has started earning confidence from his team and he too is getting backed up by them in front of the British media. Like Graeme McDowell backing up Padraig Harrington, Tiger too is getting support from his team of
12 and hopefully, this unity will continue till the time Corey holds the trophy in his hands along with his dedicated players.
