Ryder Cup 2010: What may happen in 12 singles on Monday? (Part 2)
The 12 singles are currently in progress and players of both teams are out on the course of Celtic Manor where the 2010 Ryder Cup is about to wrap up. For the ones who have read the first half, here is the second:
Ross Fisher & Jeff Overton:
Jeff Overton is one of the most celebrated players in the American camp. Even though he won a match, holed some putts and made a beautiful eagle from the fairway but he still doesn't seem able to compete Ross Fisher.
On the other hand, Fisher has won a match while halved the other and he is comparatively better than Overton in shot making. With all bets, the European may take the American rookie down and take the game by 1 up.
Miguel Angel Jimenez & Bubba Watson:
Both the players are good at roughs and know how to drill their way out of trouble. However, one amongst them is a veteran and the other a rookie. Jimenez, though, has earned more points than Watson but the determination of the American will surely take
him up, after all he needs to show his Ryder Cup trophy to his dad. Watson might win by 3&2.
Francesco Molinari & Tiger Woods:
Tiger Woods needs this victory to end his dry season. He has once again switched to a Nike putter and has a new coach to guide him. Therefore, Tiger may earn his way out to give a shut up call to all the European players who have been somewhat mocking him.
He might not be good at foursomes or four balls, but no one can defeat him when it comes to singles. On the other hand, Molinari is good at putting and hitting but it seems that he won’t be able to handle Tiger’s charisma. Therefore, Tiger may roar with
1 up.
Edoardo Molinari & Rickie Fowler:
Fowler is the newest brightest star of the American team and he definitely deserves a Ryder Cup trophy on his way home. Meanwhile, Edoardo looks way too occupied as he also has an eye on his brother. This may be a major distraction for him.
Fowler appears to be a match-play culprit and that is the reason Corey Pavin gave him a wild card. Although, he hasn't performed outstanding this week but still Fowler might provide the most entertaining match of the day, with lots of birdies and maybe a
few eagles as well. He may bag 2&1.
Peter Hanson & Phil Mickelson:
Hanson may win this match. Just look at Mickelson’ game, he lost all his matches despite being the world number 2 whereas Hanson looks relatively promising. Therefore, he might take Europe up by winning 3&2.
Padraig Harrington & Zach Johnson:
Zach Johnson is considered underrated and it seems like the time has come for him to prove the world that he can shine too. The player is currently in strong form and according to the analysts; Harrington won’t be much of a challenge for him.
Therefore, he may take his competitor down. On the other side, Harrington is quite vulnerable; therefore, his chances of winning the match are quite negligible. Zach may pick 4&3 while US win with 15 ½.
Graeme McDowell & Hunter Mahan:
By the time this duo comes out for its singles, US might well have already won the Ryder Cup. So, McDowell won’t find the need of winning the match and he may lose. Mahan might pick 2&1.
Finally, this is what Monday may look like and according to the bettors; the team which hails from United States of America may claim its second Ryder Cup trophy. If this is the case then Bubba Watson will be able to show his dad how much he loves him while
Tiger Woods will be able to look eye to eye with his fans.
