Ryder Cup 2022 bidding; Who will host the next Ryder cup?

Bidding of the 2022 Ryder Cup is going on in Wales, but who will take the biannual event to its greens is the crucial question being raised in the meeting which is currently taking place in Wales.
Friday morning left  Europe in a soothing mood after it was announced that the 2022 Ryder Cup will be held in Europe. However, the first question that arose after this announcement was who will host the next Ryder Cup? To answer
this query, the bidding is being held in the city where the current Ryder Cup will start in two days.
The 2012 Ryder Cup will be held in Medinah Country Club, Illinois, whereas the 2014 Ryder Cup will take place in Holland. The 2016 edition will be held in Hazeltine National GC, Chaska, Minnesota, USA and the 2018 season is yet
to be decided. 2020’s Ryder Cup will be played at Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin, USA. As for 2022, mere conformation has been given that Europe will be the next host. Therefore the committee is still in a meeting to decide the final host.
Germany, France, Portugal, Spain and Holland are all bidding to stage the 2018 tournament and David MacLaren of the European Ryder Cup Committee's venue evaluation panel has acclaimed that one of the losing candidates for 2018
can bid again for the Ryder Cup which is due in 2022. However, rumours have it that Great Britain might be left empty handed after the bidding for over a decade.
The Ryder Cup, which is taking place in Celtic Manor, Wales two days from now, swings between Europe and the USA after every two years. Gleneagles in Scotland will host the biannual event in 2014 but if the next two European versions
are held in continental Europe then the event can utmost come to United Kingdom in 2026 which is sixteen years from now.
As said by MacLaren, "Our current focus is 2018 but we have more than one outstanding bid, so there may be a situation where one of those competes for 2022.” This statement portrayed the tough competition between the bidders and
the requirements put forward by the committee. MacLaren also highlighted the criteria required for those candidates who wish to bid for the Cup once again. He elaborated the six points in the criteria which are as follows; The country should have a world-class golf facility,
which can be on a green-field or existing course. Secondly, it should have an excellent infrastructure. Thirdly tangible government support should be provided at all tiers and the budget presented for the tournament should be underwritten by a strong financial
institution. Moreover, the European Ryder Cup Committee's venue evaluation panel should now have a commercial relationship with the host and lastly the candidate country should have made earlier contributions in golf.
