Ryder Cup Loss still haunts Keegan Bradley
Three months ago, the American Ryder Cup team faced a humiliating defeat from their European rivals. Keegan Bradley, the American golfer admitted that the loss against the Europeans still lingers on in his mind.
However, the American said that, like any other experience in life, he learned plenty from the failure and treasures it, focusing mainly on the positives of the competition.
In a media conference, Bradley said that not a single day goes by when he does not think about the Ryder Cup loss.
However, he went on about how much fun he had and remembered certain shots that he played.
In a statement he said, “I don’t think I will ever get over the loss of the Ryder Cup. I really, really hope to be on more teams in the future and hopefully win as many as we possibly can”.
The memories of the Ryder Cup thrashing were refreshed for the American during Tyco Golf Skills Challenge last month, where he faced the European duo, Justin Rose and Peter Hanson, in a two-person team competition.
However, Tom Watson has been named the new captain for the American Ryder Cup team for the 2014 matches, which will be held in Scotland.
Bradley said Watson’s induction will prove to be fruitful for the American team because he is a highly respectable figure and a great asset for American golf.
There were many probable candidates who were considered for the Ryder Cup team Captain Appointment but eventually Watson was shortlisted.
With his vast experience of golf, Watson’s capabilities should not be underestimated. For the Europeans to reclaim the cup in 2014, they will have to exhibit excellence on the Scottish fairways.
Bradley was all praise for the newly appointed captain. In a statement he said, “Tom is an unbelievable figure in the game and an icon to us younger players, as well as every player in the game. I can’t tell you how much I would look forward to playing for
Tom Watson”.
The 2014 Ryder Cup will be a battle of the highest intensity, as the American team will be avenging its humiliating defeat.
