Ryder Cup final day under way
The final day of the Ryder Cup is underway, Lee Westwood having teed off against Steve Stricker at 9.05 - the pair are currently all square after the first hole. Europe need to win just five matches today to be certain of victory, leading the USA as they do 9½ to 6½.
Europe require 14½ points to reclaim the cup, while Corey Pavin's USA team need just 14 points to retain the prize. But to reach that figure Pavin's men will need to win eight of the 12 matches today; a tall order, given the European's dominance yesterday, though maybe the US captain nicknamed Bulldog found some suitably stirring words for his men last night.
The order of play today is as follows:
9.05am: Lee Westwood v Steve Stricker
9.17: Rory McIlroy v Stewart Cink
9.29: Luke Donald v Jim Furyk
9.41: Martin Kaymer v Dustin Johnson
9.53: Ian Poulter v Matt Kuchar
10.05: Ross Fisher v Jeff Overton
10.17: Miguel Angel Jiménez v Bubba Watson
10.29: Francesco Molinari v Tiger Woods
10.41: Edoardo Molinari v Rickie Fowler
10.53: Peter Hanson v Phil Mickelson
11.05: Padraig Harrington v Himself v Zach Johnson
11.17: Graeme McDowell v Hunter Mahan
Rain delayed play in the morning at Celtic Manor yesterday, pushing the scheduled singles matches to today for the first time in the 83 year history of the tournament. But a stunning afternoon unfolded for a delighted Colin Montgomerie, as European pairings won five out of their six matches while the sixth was halved by Italian brothers Edoardo and Francesco Molinari.
As play continues we'll bring you news of all the latest developments from Wales.
