Ryo Fujimoto pockets Boys 200m IM gold – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Ryo Fujimoto of Itoman pocketed gold medal of the Boys 200m Individual Medley (IM) on day one of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Friday, September 21.
Fujimoto showered his expertise in the four-lap IM discipline and smothered hopes of his opponents by capturing gold medal of the event.
With his impeccable pace, Fujimoto remained considerably ahead of his strongest competitor and occupied the crown of the event by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 06.42 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by his team-member, Koheim Fukazawa, who stayed 1.44 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing blockade with an effort of 2 minutes and 07.86 seconds for silver medal.
Fukazawa was trailed by Takashi Omoto of Itoman, who stayed 2.99 seconds behind and secured bronze medal of the event by touching the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 10.85 seconds.
Fourth best spot of the race was obtained by Brandon C Fiala of NCSA, who stayed one and a half body length behind and touched the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 12.23 seconds.
Fiala was chased by Robert S McHugh of NCSA, who remained 0.49 seconds slower form upsetting his former finisher and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 12.72 seconds for fifth place.
McHugh was chased by Ikuya Matsumura of Itoman, who remained only 0.23 seconds away from his former finisher and appeared on the finishing blockade with a timing of 2 minutes and 12.95 seconds for sixth spot.
Subsequently, Matsumura was chased by Grant R Proctor of NCSA, who was 0.26 seconds behind and occupied seventh finest spot of the event by producing a time of 2 minutes and 13.21 seconds.
Eighth position of the discipline was obtained by Andrew N Jovanovic of NCSA, who failed to overpower any of his competitors over the finishing blockade and ended his sprint in last place by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 14.43 seconds.
Fujimoto was delighted with his achievement in the race and collected medal and accolade for his performance after the event.
