Ryo Takayasu pockets Men’s 50m butterfly title: 2011 FINA World Cup Series, Tokyo
Japan’s Ryo Takayasu accelerated his swim in the final round of the 2011 FINA World Cup Series in Japan, on Saturday, November 12. Takayasu grabbed Men’s 50m butterfly title against his competitors.
Ryo Takayasu beat his compatriots including Hiroki Kato and Kohei Kawamoto by knocking the finishing blockade in a mouth shattering time of 22.68 seconds to claim Men’s 50m butterfly title. More importantly, Takayasu thrashed down Geoff Huegill’s previous
best meet record of 22.67 seconds, set back in Berlin.
With regard to his achievements, Ryo was able to claim silver title in 100m butterfly at the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships edition, in Victoria. In addition, Takayasu grabbed bronze medal in 4x100m medley relay during the 2005 World Championships edition,
in Montreal.
In the meantime, Hiroki Kato of Japan claimed silver title in the respective race by banging the finishing divider in a winning blot of 22.97 seconds. That swim moved Kato to top-five places in the world rankings of swimming.
Additionally, Kohei Kawamoto of Japan pocketed bronze medal in an impressive spot of 23.02 seconds. That effort moved Kohei to sixth place in the global rankings of swimming. Kawamoto was the gold title winner in 50m and 100m butterfly events at the 2011
Summer Universiade, in Beijing.
Moreover, the fourth spot was captured by Syota Hara of Japan in a thriving time of 23.41 seconds. Meanwhile, Commonwealth gold medallist, Andrew Lauterstein of Australia claimed fifth position by touching the finishing barrier in a spot of 23.45 seconds.
Andrew pocketed gold medal in 4x100m Individual Medley at the 2006 Commonwealth editions, in Melbourne.
Additionally, Yoshinori Muramatsu of Japan earned sixth place honours by claiming the finishing blockade in a time of 23.50 seconds. Then, Ryo Ishii of Japan pocketed seventh place in a time of 23.54 seconds. Finally, Japan’s Masamichi Ueda settled at eighth
place in a blot of 23.61 seconds.
Owing to his impressive splash, Ryo Takayasu was awarded gold title along with a cash prize after the session’s completion. The World Series is set to close on Sunday, November 13.
