I am talking about disposable batteries, not rechargeable ones. Pick'n'Pay has now started to set up boxes for rechargeable batteries. But what do you do with the disposables? Just throw them in the bin???

  1. Yeah - toss them in the bin - like the rest of the Answerer's - I have found rechargeable batteries a life saver - I have an 18 month child who goes through batteries like there is no tomorrow...

Excuse my ignorance but why cant recharges be disposed of in the same manner as disposables?

HEY DURACEL BUNNY - NICE ONE -

  2. I throw them in the bin. There are far more important things to think about than a little pollution.

  3. My batteries just go on and on and on....

  4. Don't use that much non-rechargeable ones, so usually throw them in the bin...

  5. Thanks for the info. I store them or bring them to work where we control the dumping. You can't throw it away so I just buy rechargeable batteries.

  6. we use rechargables, the cheapest ones are sold at the TELKOM shops, last time I bought they were R39 for 6. Excl the charger.

    regular batteries get binned.

Did you know WOOLWORTHS is now collecting old flourescent bulbs ... did you know they contain mercury? I just found out recently.

  7. Mine just go into the bin. I only use nonstandard rechargeble batterys for my camera and so on.

  8. Trent It is terrible, I just throw them in the bin, I know it is bad, but what else must I do? Is there a place where I can dispose of them safely in SA? The same with computers and broken printers, or rather redundant computers? I have asked once before what or where can I dispose of them?

  9. I put them in my freezer :E
