Yes I know when rush hour is, but I want to be able to beat traffic so what time would be the best time to leave from Corona to West Covina / L.A. area (going west)? I have never had to delt with traffic that much haha because my schedule is usually opposite to when everyone is leaving/going home. Now that I am moving more East it is going to be different.

  1. depends on what freeway but you probably want to leave no later than 5 am if you are coming from w.covina try taking the 210fwy it is the fastest and smoothest riding fwy.

  2. Traffic to the west will be pretty bad during the morning hours (6:30 to 10 am or so).  I suggest you look into metrolink.  If it's convenient for you, it will be much faster.

  3. When I lived there I had to leave by 4:30 AM to be in Huntington Beach by 6:30.  That was before the rideshare lane. It was a nightmare, but that was on the 91. You will probably be taking the 15 or the 71 to the 60 or the 10, but you still need to be on the road by 6 AM, earlier if possible, to have any chance at beating the traffic. I now commute from Fullerton to Irvine, and if I get on the freeway any time after 6, the traffic is much worse. It's pretty much like that all over southern California. Afternoons are a different story. The traffic starts early in the afternoon, and doesn't let up until at least 7. I don't even take the freeway going home. There is one benefit to commuting east to west in the morning and west to east in the afternoon, that is that you will never have the sun in your eyes.

  4. it starts about 6:30 am
