S. Siva Chandhran to star in Clearwater Masters – Asian Development Tour News
Second event of the Asian Development Tour of Clearwater Masters will commence from Thursday this week. The four-day championship will have all the young and rising players from Asia. This championship will be held at the par-72, Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort in Malaysia. 
Last year’s Asian Development Tour Order of Merit winner S. Siva Chandhran of Malaysia will highlight the Clearwater Masters with his appearance. He will certainly be one of the favourite and notable to win the championship.
The total prize money sanctioned for this event is US$75,000. All the young and upcoming players from Asia will look forward to prove themselves by competing in this championship. It will be exciting to watch these youngsters battle against each other and produce some quality golf.
The Malaysian Chandhran will be the local favourite as he will be playing on his home course. The crowds on the course will be having high expectations from the youngster to perform well. Last year, he won the Negeri Sembilan Masters Invitational.
Some other hopefuls will also feature in this four day event. It will certainly test the nerves of a few youngsters who will be playing their first Asian Development tour match.
Three rookies will also be participating in this event. Miguel Tabuena of Phillipines, Timothy Tang of Hong Kong and American Jonathan Moore will be among the probables. This is the second event of this year among the six scheduled.
This is a great opportunity for all the young participants to show their abilities and skills. At the end of this season of this tour, the top three players on the Order of Merit will be getting a chance to play on the Asian Tour for next year.
These top three players will have their official Asian Tour cards. They will also have a special exemption of going through the Asian Tour Qualifying School.
Siva is now hoping to build in confidence by winning the Clearwater Masters. He has played two Asian Tour events but did not make it through the cutline score on both the occasions.
“My game has been good. Everything just hasn’t been working for me. I hope to bounce back soon,” said Siva.
Siva will also have a home advantage in this tournament. He knows about the course and the weather conditions. He will certainly be looking for the magical touch which he had last year.
The 16-year-old Tabuena will have his first opportunity to win his maiden career title as a professional. He is also one of the emerging young talented players from Asia. This year, he has participated in two events so far and made it through the cutline in both the events. Recently, he was the youngest player in Indonsian Masters among the field who made through the cutline score.
The four-day championship will start from Thursday and all these young participants are hoping to win the event.
