S-Video Cable Question ?

i am planning on buying a s-video cable for my ps2 to improve my tv picture quality but the problem is my TV has 6 pin s-video input and i am not sure if the the item below have 6-pin s-video jack ?

or maybe all the TVs have 6 pin S-video input ?

  1. Yes, the all do.

    6 pin is the standard. Some are 9 pin, but those are in the center are are for tracking and sync and are usually not used.

    Yes, it will fit.

    There are also component cables for the ps2 if your tv has component input.


  2. I'm pretty sure all TVs have the same S-video input. I don't know, I'm probably wrong.

  3. the s-video connector is a 4 pin mini DIN. there are some computer video cards that output video on a similar 6 pin connection in order to offer both y/c and composite video in a single plug. but they have to use an adaptor cable to go to 4-pin s-video plus RCA composite. Again, this is an output connection only. I have never heard of a 6-pin connection on a TV for input purposes.
