Question:

S-Video Question?

I have a computer with a 7-pin output S-video jack and a tv with a 4-pin S-video jack. I want to connect my computer to the tv. What connection do I need to buy? I only see 4-pin jacks in stores, will this work too? Or do I need a specific connection of 7-pin to 4-pin? Thanks!

  1. Video boards that have seven pin S connectors normally come with a dongle-breakout box-that connects to the video board S connector, and has S, composite and Component connectors on it. Your computer should have come with one.

S is only capable of SD video. If your TV is ED or HD capable, you should use the dongle with composite cables.

I've never tried plugging a four pin S cable into a seven pin jack, but it might work.

  2. Hi

    Try to get a 7-pin to 4-pin?

    Try this for connections:http://www.flat-screen-tv-guide.com/conn...
