S boxing a good form of fitness?

i would lie to take up boxng as away to keep fit is this a good idea......

  1. Boxing will help your fitness, but look at it the other way around. To be a boxer you have to be fit.

    Boxers are among the most all-round fit sportsmen around.

    They have to be light on their feet (dancing type exercise);

    Have good cardio-vascular function (running type exercise);

    Have powerful lungs (any exertion excercise, swimming);

    Have strong legs (running, cycling);

    Strong arms (weights);

    Great co-ordination (punch bags & balls).

    In other words - to be a boxer you inevitably have to exercise. Great stuff - go for it.


  2. Yep, you gain strength and get extremely fit.  Only if you train and work hard!!

  7. boxers are among the fittest sportsmen, just sparring for three x three minutes is exhausting and you will be as fit as a butchers dog in no time.
