S-video???????????????

i have an sony vaio computer and a vizio tv. i just got this svideo cable from walmart. i tried pluging it, but only one of the cable ends work. the working one plugs into both my computer and tv. but the non working one doesnt work for both, whats wrong?

Either the ends are not the same meaning it is not a S-video to S-video cable or you just need to get a new cable at Walmart because this one is broken.  The pins might be bent if you did not orient it correctly when plugging it in.
