SA ID book....4 years and still waiting?

Okay, it's 4 years since I renewed my ID book at SA House in London and still no news, my passport came but no ID book!!! Is this a record and is there any hope of me seeing my ID book....? You know they really are pathetic at Home Affairs, ja, Ministerie van Binnelandse Kak se ek.

Not at all a record,You have heard about that guy that for real took one of the officials at home affairs hostage,I am afraid you must re apply

I see red when I just think about it.

I applied for my ‘Birth Certificate’ at the SA Consulate in Germany. I pestered and phoned them on a regular basis. They constantly told me that they would send another fax. I finally asked them for that famous fax number so that I could send a plea of my own, which I did. And guess what was printed on the transmission report? I had sent it to The Std Bank of SA. I flipped my lid and sent another fax asking anybody on the other side to please confirm in an email if they have constantly been receiving faxes from Home Affairs. Which they confirmed and added that they threw these faxes away. The stupid consulate had been sending these faxes to the STD bank for over a year. But they took my money!

I was asked to leave Germany (before they throw me out) because their Home Affairs could not believe that it could take so long for me to receive my 'Birth Certificate' (They only accept a 'Birth Certificate'  that has an issue date of not older than six months) Can you imagine? They have three on hand already but if I apply for anything else….they are going to ask for another ‘Birth Certificate’

Home affairs and the SA consulate in Germany are pathetic, pathetic,pathetic!

LETS SEE IF U GET MORE THAN 5 ANSWERS! only stupid ppl wait that long..they can probably see at home affairs that u dont want ur id that badly thats why they are dragging their feet!

I'm to afraid of reapplying I know it will take a life time. I use my passport as ID

Here at the embassy in Israel, they told me that they stopped renewing ID books. Only passports. For ID books you have to go back to SA. So maybe you are waiting in vain.

I live in South Africa and after waiting 3 years for my ID i re-applied.
