My son is 6 and he starts tomorrow. I am more than ready. This whole summer it seems I have been pregnant. I gave birth to my second son and almost immediately (on accident) got pregnant with my third child. So, I have my hands full and I cannot wait to get this kid back to school and only have to worry about me and my 2 month old (who is low maitenence). How about you?

  1. I have 5 kids and I am very excited about having them back in school!  No more extra food to buy, no more cleaning up after them or constantly asking them to clean up after themselves!

This year I am going to College, and I start the same day they do, so I am kind of sad that I cannot take my 5 year old to her first day of Kindergarten.

Anyway, I know what you mean, it is time for a well deserved break!

  2. Yes and no.  My 4 - year - old is going to "big boy" preschool in two weeks, and it's going to be bittersweet.  I've already started crying about it!  We bought him a copy of Dr. Seuss's "Oh, The Places You'll Go," and I teared up while writing a message from my husband and me in it.  I got weepy again while he picked out some new school clothes in the mall, and yet again when the tiny backpack I ordered for him came in the mail.  Fortunately, my husband is taking the day off to come with us on the first day.  Otherwise, I think I'd be tempted to turn around to pick him up before I even got home!

But after we both settle in to our new schedule, I know I'm going to enjoy having a few hours to get some work done.  Oh, the thought of enjoying my chai latte without a 4 - year - old yelling that he needs more toilet paper is quite enticing!

  3. I am so ready! So is he! He is starting kindergarten and is so excited! It will be great for him to get out during the day and it'll make it easier for me to care for the baby! I love having my kids with me all day but he is ready to be out in the big wide world for a few hours a day!

Edit: How old was baby number 2 when baby number 3 snuck in there? You poor girl - you must be exhausted!

Edit:Wow! Life has a way of doing what it wants. Don't let people make you feel like you don't enjoy/love your children as much because you are excited for them to develop and go to school. My son loves his camp and playgroups - it is good to want your child to do what makes them happy.

  4. I was excited about him going back. He went and stayed with his mom the last 7 weeks before school so we missed him a lot. I was really excited to get him home since we set up his own room and stuff.

I just feel bad for our 2 year old because she is so ready to go to school with big brother that she cried her eyes out when he got on the bus and she couldn't. Today is his 2nd day of school, but they are only going till 1:30 this week which is nice.

  5. Oh my goodness!  You poor thing!  lol!  That would be a nightmare!  lol!  Yeah, I can see why you can't wait for your oldest to start school!  As for me, I have an almost 3 year old and a 5 month old and I'm looking forward to the day when my oldest does start school... it'll give  me a little bit of a break but of course by then my 5 month old will be in her terrible 2's...... it's a vicious cycle, isn't it?  lol.

  6. No, actually I am dreading it. I love summertime and spending the time with my kids doing fun things. Our days are flexible and we do what we want. Once they go back to school it's back to the same old routine and there is always so much going on for me to think about and do. I love the way summer is carefree and just fun.

  7. nope ... not me. I enjoy my kids at home.

  8. No, I am always kind of sad when school starts. Yes they drive me nuts at times in the summer but I still enjoy them. And I love being able to lay in bed and snuggle with them in the morning instead of  the mad dash to get ready and out the door.

  9. I am a SAHM mom to my 4 1/2 mo and my 3 stepchildren (17, 15, and 12). This summer has been so hectic for us (a household move, first summer with the baby, the kids' schedules, etc) and on top of all that they constantly fight and wake up the baby from her nap so its hard to keep her on a schedule. I'm ready to pull my hair out sometimes! I just keep thinking to myself, 'just til the 25th'. During the school year they're much better and everything will be back to 'normal'...well, as normal as it can possibly be with 4 children.
