  2. I wake up to screaming kids who are fighting and pulling hair out.  When I do manage to get them to sit down for a minute we try..and I do mean try... to have a decent breakfast.  Then after we clean the syrup and milk off the table and chairs and floor and maybe even the walls we go into the tub for a bath.  Then we wade through the foot of water on the floor to the bedroom to get dressed for the day.  After digging through drawers and closets and a lot of "why are ther dirty clothes mixed in with the clean" we find a mixed matched outfit that we can kinda agree on.  Then we walk...well, I actually run after the kids, down to the mailbox to wait for the mailman.  After the mail runs we walk to granny's so she can load em up on candy and sodas then pass them back to me so we can head back home to get ready to go to S-L-E-E-P.  Yeah...I have to spell it or they will start whinning before I get them to their rooms.  After a mid morning nap we do lunch....a replay of breakfast...then playtime.  Then snacks.  Then T.V. time.  By late evening they are tired and quite literaly pulling my hair out.  We do dinner...whatever they want, I cant deal with the whinning by now.  Then bed.  And the funny thing is I wouldnt have it any other way.

  3. Depends on the weather...when its hot we go to the beach everyday. when its too hot we stay in and watch movies, paint, color, play with play doh..or there are days where i just need to catch up on cleaning and the kids play with their toys

  4. if its not to hot lots of fresh air outside(pool, playground, bikes)it helps them go to sleep easyer.

  5. wake up, breakfast, go outside and play for a while, snack, nap, play, lunch, play, snack, supper, bath, and bed....that's the condensed version. I have a 2 yr. old and a 9 month old.

  6. I have a great article in my blog about activities to do with the kids.  Check it out!

  7. Breakfast, dressed & morning chores, play outside or trip somewhere, snack, homeschool, lunch, naps & chores for those not napping, play, dinner, play outside or trip somewhere (only one trip a day), baths, snack, bedtime.

We do a shortened version of homeschool in the summer just to review things they've learned, work out things they are still struggling with and make sure everything stays fresh in their minds.  We don't take a trip somewhere everyday, but usually take two or three outings a week.

  8. My kids are up at the crack of dawn.  Often they come into our room at that time and we all cuddle together in the bed.  Then we all get up (or some of us--usually Dad stays in bed) and have breakfast.  I'm lazy, so cold cereal is usually the breakfast of the day, unless I'm feeling domestic, then we have eggs or pancakes.  After breakfast, I often pop in a video so I can feed the baby uninterrupted.  We live in AZ where it's really hot in the summer, so I send the kids out to play in the morning hours.  I  make them stay outside for at least 45 minutes-1 hour, riding bikes, etc.  We have a HUGE back patio, so they ride around in the backyard.  If they were older, I'd have them ride around in the front yard.

After that, they'll usually have a snack (about 9:30 now), a piece of fruit or some crackers and juice.  We have an art table equipped with lots of art supplies--paper, crayons, markers, glue, scissors, stencils, colored pencils, sometimes paint or stickers, that sort of thing.  They love that, and often spend hours doing that.  We have lunch at 11:30 and then the younger ones take naps.  The older ones and I go swimming during this time (we have a backyard pool--but you could do sprinklers or a play pool).  If I can't take them outside (like when one has an ear infection or something), they have quiet time because of the naps--watch a video, play computer games, draw, read books, write, do puzzles, play games with each other (and me--we have TONS of kids games).  In the afternoons, after naps, they often play dress-up (we have a costume box, and these are even boys I'm talking about).  They become Superman, Spider-man, cowboys, horses, pirates, even doctors and karate men.  Sometimes we use afternoons for outings, like if there's a special at the museum or we go to the library, or we go to an indoor playground or a water park (if Dad is home).

We've done Olympics (events like a book walk-balancing a book on your head while walking, a beanbag toss, a relay race, and swimming events).  Sometimes we turn the house into a mini city by making each room something like a restaurant, a library, an office, etc.  Sometimes we bake in the kitchen and make fun things to eat, like snowcones or home-made popsicles.

The key is to play with them, not just give them things to do and tell them to play.  Yes, there will be times to have them play on their own, but playing with them can be a huge boredom buster.  My kids are still young though, and when they get older, I will allot a certain time of the day in the summer for reading and math to keep up their skills between school years.  The oldest is just in school now.

  9. well first we get up and have breakfast and stuff. then...

Jenni Lynn (14) goes to the shop/mall with friends for most of the day.
