SAN DIEGO, I need help. I am moving out there after the first of the year.?

Like I said I am moving out there after the first of the year, and I have a small child that is kindergarten age. I was curious to how the school systems work out there, and how the special ed classes are. What time does school start and what time do they let out. and another thing to I was curious to know if any one knows of any family friendly areas around the coronado area. Thanks a bunch
