SAT 2s / AP Exams?

Okay, I did pretty terrible on my SAT 2s. They're not where I want them to be. Will colleges see these scores if I don't send them in? Or will they always see them? How important are these SAT 2s? Do I need to take them?

I got a 4 on my Enlgish Language Exam, a 3 on my APUSH exam, and a 2 on my Art History Exam. I have a 3 on my World History Exam as well. Should I report all of these scores when I apply to colleges, or should I cancel my Art History score? I'm thinking of retaking it, but I think that will be a lot of work... and time. I'm taking 5 AP classes during my senior year.

Report them all, colleges like to see it anyway.

(It will make the 3's look better, they'll know that you had a lot on your plate)

All the scores from the SATs will be sent in a cumulative score report--unless you are not a senior this year (starting march, you can choose which scores to send). Colleges will see all the scores, but only CONSIDER your top 2 or 3 depending on the school. SAT 2s are very important to selective schools. You only have to take them if you aren't going to take the ACT--if you take the SAT then you have to send SAT subjects with them in most cases. Same thing with AP scores-- all scores get sent but you should wait until the summer before college to send them to the ONE school you're going to (less money and more convenient). The commonapp asks for AP scores, so colleges will see them when you apply but w/o an offical score report they can't use this very much in admissions. Keep up with the AP tests and it'll balance out the subject test scores in a way.

Don't worry about it.  Do the best you can.  None of us can say exactly what the admissions officers are going to say about your application.

The problem is that you can't selectively report one score over another - when you send it, all of it gets sent.  That said, your scores aren't terrible and you certainly are showing that you are a well rounded student who challenges him/herself and that is important to a college/university.

So send 'em and if you do well with your APs, the SAT subject test scores won't matter!
