SAT II Results, Math Lvl. 2 and CHEMISTRY. help!!!?

I took the June 2008 Math Level 2 and Chemistry SAT II's and got a 740 on both of them. I really screwed up on math and am retaking that for sure. But what about chemistry? Should I retake that one?

Also, what's the retake policy? Can I just register for math again in november and take it again, and not do anything with my current math score.

Also, how are these scores to apply to colleges like UC Berkeley and other good CA schools?

  1. UMMMMMMM. no You didn't s***w up on math.

Scores on the subject tests vary depending on the subject. For the Ivy's and high LAC's, a 700 on any subject test (other than Math II) is a good score. For Math II, since the curve is generous, a score around 750 is considered very good. For most colleges, a 650 is a very respectable score. In order to gauge how strong a particular score is, the percentiles provided with the score report are usually even helpful.

although, some people got a lower subscore the second time around.

  2. those are amazing scores. Berkley would be glad to have you, so will any other ivy league. The only school you would probably have to worry about if you were thinking about applying is CalTech. If you go on collegeboard.com's college search, it shows you the middle 50% range of scores, and everyone at caltech gets close to perfect, if not, perfect scores on the math. Chemistry and Math are both great, don't sweat it. Harvard, Yale, Princeton are happy with 700+ scores. However, if you are like 110% positive that you can get a higher score the second time around, then go for it. Doesn't hurt to be too prepared
