Question:

SAT II Subject Test Cancellation?

I recently registered for the Math Level I and the Chemistry Subject tests. However, I've decided that I don't want to take the Chemistry test since I'm not sufficiently prepared for it (I know, I'm stupid).

So, I would like to cancel the Chemistry test. I've heard several points of view on this, one being that I need to pay money to change anything and the other that I can just tell my proctor on test day and not take the Chemistry test. I really need conformation as to which view is correct, because I feel that if I just go in there and tell my proctor that I don't want to take a test I registered for, they won't accept it. So, basically, here are my questions:

Is it possible to cancel a Subject test itself? (not its scores)

If it is possible, can I do it on collegeboard.com or should I do it on test day itself by talking to my proctor (if that's feasible)?

Thanks for taking the time to answer this absurdly long question, I really appreciate it.

  1. I've heard that you can just show up on the day of the test and simply skip it. What you do take is scored, and what you don't take isn't. What you don't take, you don't get a score for, and besides an eight bucks out the window, you won't really lose anything. They're not going to put a zero or two hundred on your score reports or anything. It'll be as though you never registered for/took it.

If they let you show up on the day of the test and SWITCH tests without forewarning, I'm pretty sure it's even less of a problem to simply drop one.
