SAT/PSAT Content?

I'm going to be a junior this fall and plan on taking the SAT and PSAT, and basically use my summer to prepare for them. My question is what is actually on the tests, what levels of math, vocabulary, etc. All helpful feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  1. First off, you do NOT need to prepare over the summer. After taking the psat in october, then prepare for them in march or may.

second, the math contains algebra 1 and 2 and geometry

the english contains basic grammar skills, vocabulary (buy the flash cards) and reading comp

  2. I am also in your position.  I have taken two PSAT's and I can tell you that the math section is very easy.  Most of it is just basic algebra and other geometrical problems that you can just reason out with no specific studying or training whatsoever.  The critical reading section is not necessarily tricky, but it is kind of annoying because you have to read about three passages for each 20-25 question section.  That can get pretty tedious.  The vocabulary section is kind of difficult though.  Be sure to train and expand your vocabulary before you take the test.
