  1. I would recommend taking a prep course (if you have the funds and time).  These scores are a great start.  The courses can teach you HOW the ETS (makers of SAT and many other tests) asks questions.  Often they use tricky wording and transitions to try to throw you off.  They also teach you study tricks and give lists of commonly used words that ETS likes.  If you don't have the time/funds, buy a book from Kaplan or the Princeton Review and get what you can from it.  The book should have information similar to what they offer in their prep courses.

  2. I suggest you spend some time on revising middle-school English and Math. Most of what appears on the SAT is based on what students in most countries study between the seventh and ninth grades. As for English vocabulary, '1100 words you need you know' is a pretty good book to master.

I suggest you hold off on the Princeton/Barron's guides until your diagnostic indicates that your potential score is greater than 1600 or so. Otherwise they're probably not too useful for you at your current level of preparation. Patience, and practice will get you there.

  3. It is definitely possible to increase your score. That was just a diagnostic, after your done studying and getting help from tutoring or classes, your score should significantly increase, only if you work hard. I recommend reading the Princeton Review book and the Collegeboard book.
