Question:

SAT Unscored section?

I just took the SAT (for the second time) this past weekend and I am really stressing over one specific section. The questions included in this section seemed extremely difficult and off-balance compared to the other sections and, needless to say, I know I didn't do well.

I know that there's an unscored section included in the SAT and it is supposed to be impossible to figure out which section is the experimental one, but wouldn't it be obvious if there are supposed to be specific numbers of sections for Critical Reading, Writing, and Math to atleast determine whether the experimental was part of one of these specific categories?

If so, this isn't going to be pretty. If not, I might still have a chance of making my intended score. Please help!!!

  1. It may be the experimental section, but it wasn't intended for anyone to determine which section that would be. I guess if you've really studied and noticed patterns among the question types, then you may have pointed it out. if that's the only section you messed up on, however, then it probably isn't a big deal anyway, unless you're aiming for a perfect score. hope this helps.

  2. Youll be able to tell which subject the experimental section is in because its the one with 4 tests. Usually you will get two in a row that are the same section on test 5 and 6 or 6 and 7. Its one of those three, although I've never been able to figure out which. If you buy a practice book, youll see that there is always a section missing right in the middle because it was the experimental section for that year. I dont think theres really any way to tell which it is. The part that makes it experimental is most likely too subtle to notice under test taking conditions, and you probably are only pointing towards one because you thought it was more difficult. That could be true, but its not guaranteed by any means.
