Question:

SAT and ACT?

what is the difference between them? and who has to take them? do you only take SAT if you are going into a east coast university? (by the way, i live in michigan)

  1. They are both tests that can be required for admission to college. Different colleges require different tests and it does not matter what part of the country you are in. I believe the SAT is more common..but check with the schools you are interested in before deciding which to take.


  2. ACT is a different style test then SAT,a person who does not so great on SAT's usually does pretty well on ACT's  most east coast schools only require a person to take the SATS

  3. Most midwest people take the ACT, but both are accepted at universities. The ACT is less like an IQ test, and puts more emphasis on knowledge, while the SAT involves alot of thinking... Also, the ACT has several parts; math, reading, science, writing, while the SAT has three (math, CR, and writing.)
