Question:

SAT and the ACT?

Can you tell me the pros and cons of each. I dont know which one to take and which one would be easier for me.

  1. SAT:

    Pros: No science section, essay is at the beginning of the exam

    Cons: 1/4 point deducted for every wrong answer, only 3 sections so each section is worth more (this could also be a pro if you are really strong in one area)

    ACT:

    Pros: No points deducted for wrong answers so guess all you want, 4 sections so if you mess up on one it won't kill your score

    Cons: Essay is at end of exam (you'll be tired), science section hurts a lot of people

    It really depends on what kind of student you are. The SAT is the "SAT Reasoning Test" which means the questions are tricky and you have to "reason" them. The ACT deals with a lot of reading comprehension. Good luck!


  2. At many universities either  test is okay, but some require the SAT. Check admission requirements for the schools you are considering.
