SAT confused about score?

I took the SAT in March of this year. I was a junior.

I remember reading that the overall total score had changed to 2400 instead of 1600. But on my score result, it seems like it was out of 1600. I'm really confused.

It says I got a 520 in critical reading, out of 550.

I got a 380 in Math, out of 410.

And in writing, I got a 560 out of 600.

It says multiple choice, 52. And then essay - 9.

I'm so confused! Please help.

  1. ...I'm confused too! the SAT is for sure out of 2400 now, I'm sure about that, and each section is worth 800 points. I can explain the multiple choice/essay part though. The writing part of the test is divided into two sections, multiple choice and essay. I don't remember how many multiple choice q's there were, but I know that the essay part is out of 12(so good job). The two numbers were there just to explain subscores for writing.

May I ask where you got those numbers from? because I'm looking at my own SAT scores online, and the only thing I can thing of that you're looking at is the score range. The score range just shows what scores are basically the same...I mean like a 560 and a 590 don't really mean anything different. Your real score, at least online, is at the top of those tabs...I don't have my paper score in front of me  so I'm not sure where it is there. Sorry I couldn't be more clear, email me if you want me to try to explain more, I'm happy to help!
