Question:

SAT or ACT?

I dunno if I should take the ACT or SAT again. I had a bad morning the day I took the ACT, I hadn't gotten any sleep, couldn't find my calculator, and I had no idea what the format of the test was like because I never looked up anything about it. I ended up with a 29 when I know I'm capable of better since so many things went wrong that day. The SAT I didn't prepare for. I got a 740 math, 720 reading, 660 writing. I feel like I could do better if I attempted to get a prep book or something.

I don't really have the money to take both tests, but I figured I'd try to improve my score on one of them to send to colleges since next year is my senior year.

Which should I take? Should I take the ACT and send both scores if I improve that one? Or drop my ACT score and improve my SAT score?

  1. You did way better on the SAT (your combined math and verbal is practically a 33 in the ACT) so I think you should retake that.

Your scores are already really good but it can't hurt to take a few practice tests and study the kind of problems that it will contain. I'm sure you'll do even better the next time around so you'll have an even better chance at getting into the schools your applying for.

  2. it entirely depends. what schools do you want to go to? call them up and ask which one they prefer, and then retake that test.

  3. if you have any colleges in mind then get online and look up admission requirements on their website. it will tell you whether or not they take the sat or act or both.  29 act sounds solid. you should be able to get into any public college you want with that. i had a 27 and got into oklahoma university and texas tech no problem.   good luck at college!!!

  4. you should take the ACT becuause it more easier than SAT.
