Im an international student in asia and I got 1920 on SATs this yr as a junior, without practice and omitting no answers. Should I take it again? How much better is, say, a 2100 score than a 19xx score? Also, the essay topic was easy as h**l and im afraid this time itll be harder.

Plus, i want to go to canada for college because im a citizen there. They do look at SATs if youre international/in american system but could anyone tell me how they see SAT scores?

thx

  1. Wow, that's pretty impressive! 1920 on the SATs as an international student..It's up to you if you want to take it again or not. If you take it again, I think you'll do better as long as you just prepare for it. And since you took the SATs, you now have a general idea of what kind of questions they'll ask. Good Luck! ;)

  2. Breaking 2000 will help if you want top colleges. 2100 is the start of the scores top US colleges look for although none of the Canadian colleges are as competitive to get into as top US schools. If you can get the 2100 you should do well in Canada, having your choice of schools.

  3. Take the SAT again. And study this time. A 2100 is a lot better than the 1900s if you're aiming for the better liberal arts colleges in the US. (I don't know about Canada, sry.) Don't stress about the writing section; many colleges still aren't sure what they're going to do with it, and some colleges even ignore the writing section altogether. Focus on Critical Reading and Math.
