  1. yeah, not to sound mean or anything, but i took them in 8th grade through John Hopkins just to see how they were, and i got higher scores than that. RETAKE THEM!!!!

  2. retake it.And study.

  3. Basically.

  4. i think you should retake it. i mean... i just do. because nowadays with the new version you can get a perfect 2400. so 13...whatever else isnt the greatest. but i think you can look into what colleges would take you. but i recomend paying like 40 bucks to retake it. They will take the best scores out of all you get. Good luck

  5. Yeah pretty much

  6. well in general yes pretty much screwed. But what grade are you in? if you are like a freshman i guess it is ok. My first real SAT in 10th grade was 1750 i think you should just study up and take the SAT a couple of times. If it is your first don't worry, i did really bad on my first i got like below 1500.

    good luck and cheers ^^

  7. ya

  8. No, you're not screwed.  You can always take the test again and bring your score up.

Your best bet is to do a lot of practice tests.  Don't waste your time/money with classes. I took one Princeton Review SAT class my junior year but I didn't improve at all. Then, I just did practice tests over and over again and my score jumped 400 points.

I'd recommend going to a book store and picking up a copy of Collegeboard's Official SAT Study Guide. There are a lot of SAT prep books, but Collegeboard's worked best for me. They're the ones who make the SATs so their practice exams are most like the real ones. There are other SAT guides that you could try as well. Princeton Review and Kaplan tend to be easier than the real SATs and Barron's tends to be harder. I like Collegeboard's book the best, but a lot of my friends liked Barron's because it was harder so they felt that if they could get high scores on Barron's practice tests, they'd definitely do well on the real SATs.  Each person learns differently so just go to a book store and flip through the study guides and see which ones you think would help you the most.

You should try to do 2 practice tests a week (maybe more if you can fit it in or if you're taking the SATs again sometime soon).  As long as you keep practicing, increasing your score is not as difficult as people make it seem.

    Good luck!

  9. Are you a senior?  If not you should be able to take the test again.  And even if you can't, your score may still qualify for some of the state colleges.  You need to check with your college counselor (if there is one) at your high school.  If you don't have one, go to the websites of colleges you might have interest.  Don't waste your time checking out prestigious schools that you know you want stand a chance (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, etc.).

If it turns out you can take the SAT again, prepare to do better the next time.

Whatever you do don't give up.  You can always go the Community or Junior College or Online Colleges route if necessary.
