Is it true that colleges only take your best scores from your SATs??

for example, if you took the SAT reasoning test two times, colleges will take the better score for each section (reading, math, writing) from either test??

is this true for ALL colleges? almost all colleges?

  1. most colleges yes.. but that is a good thing!

    be happy!

but many colleges dont look at SAT scores at all.

  2. you are correct you could take them three times and take best scores from each!

  3. It is entirely up to the college.  I know my school that I just graduated from (wake forest) just eliminated SAT from consideration in lieu of an interview.  A lot of other tier one schools are doing the same.  I owuld research each college to make sure they take either the best combined score (best math + best verbal) or take best one test score.

Honestly I hope you arent taking it for a year or two bc by then I assume most schools wont give it the merit everyone feels it deserves.  Its overrated and not indicative of all abilities.
