ive taken the SATs 3 times and my highest single test was a 1750, but if u take the highest scores out of all 3 times, i have a 1790. im going to be a senior next year and i was thinking about taking the SATs one more time in october, depending on how much i study this summer.

but i was wondering, are the ACTs easier? i was thinkin about taking them in the fall. are there any practice ACTs online? how was ur ACT experience?

  1. I got the following from the College Prep Coach website

Question: What’s the difference between the SAT and the ACT?

Actually, they are more similar than they are different.

They both test the fundamentals you learn in elementary school, not really high school.

Both tests test grammar, reading, and elementary math. The SAT throws in a few vocabulary questions, and the the ACT throws in a so-called Science section (that tests no science: just your ability to read charts and graphs.)

Both have an essay section, in which you write an essay in about half an hour on a prompt.

    However, there ARE differences:

Although both tests are very different from tests in school (the content is the same--it’s the way the content is tested that’s different), the ACT is a bit closer to what you actually see in school. Both are curriculum and reasoning tests, but the ACT is a bit more curriculum based, and the SAT a bit more reasoning based.

The SAT can feel harder, because it is trickier.

The ACT is harder to finish, because it is more time-pressured.

  2. Since you have already taken the SAT three times and received a highest score of 1750, I think you need to try a different test. Some people do better on the ACT than the SAT. I, for example, did considerably better on the ACT. I felt that the math and English portions were easier. The only downside about the ACT is the fourth portion, science. So my advice to you is to try the ACT, and see what it is like.
