  1. i wouldnt worry too much about weather or not they are going to cancelled. you should just have fun over th holidays, if the SAT's do go ahead, you still have a year to revise. tbh they are really easy so don't worry & enjoy your summer!!

  2. im going into year 9 as well. you dont need to worry about SATS yet as they are right at the end of the year so you have nearly a year to not worry about them and just relax

im going to relax and take it easy up until a few months before they are due

  3. they better had cancel them but they are important yes because they can tell you if you need to work harder or keep goin at the same level and dome good revision books you can buy of ebay or go to whs or amazon study for an hour a day if you want good grades get some books from the library x good luk

  4. Don't start revising now. Enjoy your summer holiday to the max because sats are not important in comparasion to gsce's. I revised a month before sats and still came out with 8.7.6. Only maths counted because it helped me get into a higher set. In my school, they sorted out maths sets according to what you got in your sats but that's about it. English and science were only used as a prediction for my gsce's in year 10. But my year 11 mock counted much more for my predictions for gsce's than sats in year 9. Year 11 predictions are based on the mocks you go in year 11 at the start to get you into college. Only one college looked at my sats results but everybody else didn't. I think march is the best time to start revising. Teachers keep telling you to revise early and how important sats are but they really are not.

  5. The Government has just spent £156 million  for Sats for the next five years - so what do you think?

However I wouldn't worry as they are largely irrelevant exams and I would just enjoy the holidays.

Do not stress - not worth the energy

  6. don't stress now haha! there are rumours because of the awful marking and the companies are going to be fined massive amounts of money. many people are complaining but don't just suspect that they are demolishing them yet. its best to start revising from christmas onwards. at the start just revise a bit then as you get closer spend a lot of time revising. for maths you can't really revise much anyway just pay attention in class. english is really the same, just do practise papers and be attentive in class. for science, listen and thats the one you should revise for most. good luck for next year! well i would advise you to get the ks3 science textbook sold in WHSMITHS i think. :)

  7. i just done  sats and they ant that bad u get have to revise from feb 09 till may no enjoy you summer vacation and let the teacher tell you what you need to get to revise i found past papers helpfully and yes the gcp book are good  for english  shakespere and  maths we got free science ons coz were a specialist science collage . there not the end of the world dnt worry about it and enjoy you last days of yr 8 because it test and exams form here onwards

    lozzie

  8. The SAT's are not cancelled, even though many people would like them to be cancelled. The SAT is a standardized test for college admission. If it was to be cancelled they would have to have another test replace it. But thats not going to happen in the near future.

If you are stressed about the SAT, here are some tips on how to prepare for it.

Here are some pointers to improve your score:

Well there are alot of SAT Prep books out there for example the College board SAT Prep book (the best one in my opinion), and the Kaplan one is a close 2nd. The Collegeboard SAT Prep book is excellent because it gives you alot of tips and tricks on how to crack the SAT and it ahs alot of practice questions and actual previous SAT tests from the test makers. Also once you finish the practice test you can go online and put in your answers and see your actual score. Which helps alot! Trust me.

Your second option is to take a SAT prep course in your area. (That is if you cant study from a book). The SAT prep courses that I recommend (which are common everywere in the US) is the Kaplan course, and the TestMasters course.

They are a bit expensive but will give you the information you need to succeed on the SAT.

And the last and final option (if the book does not work and if you cannot take the course) there is a online website (which is totally free) called www.studybeans.com

It helps you with practice problems, vocab words, and almost everything on the SAT.

Good Luck! and hope you do well on the SAT!

  9. I thought SATS were to test your teachers not you.  That's what the government keep saying.  Don't get stressed.
