SBV Excelsior 3-1 FC Utrecht, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ton-c35408 du Chatinier utterly disappointed with the loss – Eredivisie News
The relegation contenders, SBV Excelsior, stunned http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237 by 3-1 at the Stadion Woudestein on Sunday, May 1. Ton du Chatinier, the Utreg's manager, was utterly disappointed with the loss and admitted that his players’ efforts on the green were far from
convincing.
Chatinier said, “I do not know if the turmoil in the coming days further increase. In football, it is always hectic. This is purely lack of institutionalisation and this was not the first time. We have many good players, but when it comes mentally, they
are not at their best.”
Both sides started the match slowly, but the home-side were quick to gain pace. The Kralingers took the lead in the 25th minute through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Geert-Arend-Roorda-c14501. Six minutes later, the home side doubled their lead, when Roland Bergkamp tucked expertly
on a brilliant pass from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guyon-Fernandez-c15479.
Roorda sealed all three points in the 65th minute of the match, when his perfect volley found the back of the net on Marvin Zeegelaar’s cross. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Demouge-c14091 netted one for the visitors with three minutes remaining on the clock, but it was too
late and the match ended 3-1 in favour of Excelsior.
The home-side were ecstatic to secure all three points and kept their hopes alive of climbing out of the relegation zone. The Kralingers sit 16th in the league table, only three points adrift from the safety zone. With only three points left to
grab in the season, they have a good chance to finish 15th in the Eredivisie table.
On the other hand, the Utreg have dropped to ninth place in the league table after losing three crucial points. With only three points left to play for, they trail the last UEFA Europa League play-off berth spot by merely two points. However, their performances
in the recent weeks suggest that Europe’s secondary club competition berth looks unlikely to come for the Utreg.
The Utreg will clash with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar at the Stadion Galgenwaard on Sunday, May 15. Chatinier would be hoping that his side stage a dominant show in front of their home crowd and secure maximum points that could see them sitting in the top eight Eredivisie
sides at the end of the season.
