SBV Excelsior’s Guyon Fernandez seeks Feyenoord Rotterdam move – Dutch Eredivisie news
SBV Excelsior’s prolific striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guyon-Fernandez-c15479, has set sights on a Feyenoord Rotterdam move at the end of the 2010/11 season. Reports suggest that the 25-year-old striker is in talks with the club for his contract negotiations, but it seems like that
the striker wants to pursue his career at the Feijenoord Stadion.
Fernandez started his professional career with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221 in 2007/08 season but was unable to cement his place in the playing eleven and only made 11 appearances for ADO. He joined the Kralingers in 2008/09 season and has developed into a key player in
the Kralingers’s front line. Fernandez has scored 24 goals in 59 appearances since his arrival at the club.
However, it looks like that the 25-year-old striker wants to pursue his career elsewhere at the end of the season, as the forward has shown great interest in joining the Rotterdam giants. Fernandez said, “When you are young, you look at a club like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258.”
The former ADO striker’s contract with the Kralingers is set to expire at the end of the season and the Dutch national has confirmed that there is total disagreement in the contract negotiations with the club management.
Reports confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 Nijmegen and De Graafschap are also taking keen interest in signing the striker in the upcoming summer transfer market. However, Fernandez has mooted all the possible moves and stated his entire focus is to join De Stadionclub.
Fernandez added, “You should go with the one where you feel good. That is Feyenoord. It is a very nice club, but I would also like to play. Whether I make the switch, it depends on what their future plans are with me.”
The Kralingers are battling relegation to Eerste Divisie this season. They are currently placed 16th in the league table, trailing the safety zone by three points. With only three points left to play for in the season, the outfit from Excelsior
would need all the luck they can garner to climb out of the relegation zone and play in the Dutch top flight next season.
Fernandez has remained the only spark in the team this season. He has played brilliantly throughout the season, becoming the leading goal scorer for his side in the process. His desire to join the Rotterdam outfit is well deserved after his good performances
with a struggling Eredivisie outfit.
