SBV Excelsior’s Jordy Clasie believes his side will remain in the Dutch top tier – Eredivisie news
SBV Excelsior’s midfielder, Jordy Clasie, believes that his side will not be relegated to Eerste Divisie this season. The 19-year-old midfielder remains confident of playing in the Dutch top flight next season as well.
The Kralingers are currently placed 16th in the league table, three points adrift of the safety zone. With only one game left to be played in the season, they have every right to remain optimistic of safety come the end of the season.
In recent weeks, the outfit from Excelsior have been impressive on the pitch in spite of their poor performances throughout the season. Clasie said, “I think the players and technical staff have worked well together. Everything is working for us.”
The 19-year-old midfielder has been a part of the Kralingers since his debut against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam on August 15, 2010. He has scored two goals in 31 appearances for his side this season. Alex Pastoor, the Kralingers manager, showed a lot of faith in
the midfielder and the youngster has proved his worth on the pitch.
The Kralingers will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitesse-c40905 Arnhem at GelreDome Arnhem Stadion on Sunday, May 15. Should they manage to secure all three points in this fixture and 15th placed De Graafschap lose points in their final game, the Kralingers will climb out
of the relegation zone.
Even if the outfit from Excelsior fail to secure all three points in their upcoming fixture, they can still avoid relegation by winning the relegation play-offs. Clasie also believes that they have every chance of playing in the Dutch top tier next season,
as sides from Eerste Divisie are incapable of defeating his team.
Clasie said, “Last week we played very well. I do not know which team from Eerste Divisie can win from us.”
The 19-year-old midfielder would be hoping that his side gains maximum points in their upcoming final encounter of the season and keep their Eredivisie hopes for the next season.
