SC Braga manager Leonardo Jardim looking to win the first clash of the season against Rio Ave

The coach remained wary of the threat posed by the rivals but said that his team are now stronger and capable of beating the side, whom they had only gotten the better of twice in the last decade.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the match, Jardim claimed that the Archbishops are keen to start the new campaign with a bang and would be looking to secure three points when they travel to Vila do Conde.
"In the last ten years the SC Braga won by only two times in Vila do Conde. We were eager to dominate the game and return with three points, obviously respecting the value of the opponent,” Jardim was quoted as saying.
While the Estadio AXA outfit has undergone major changes in ownerships in the last few years, the tactician reiterated that they now have a decent squad and a good setup to ensure a high finish for the club.
"SC Braga was perhaps the team whose league has changed over eleven, with the output of six or seven owners. But I do not regret going to hear these outputs. I believe in my structure and quality of my players.” The manager added.
