SC Braga want players on free transfers
Portuguese side SC Braga are on the look for players, who will be available on Bosman transfers this winter.
The Archbishops have been amongst the top four sides in the Primeira Liga but unlike http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon they do not boast excessive spending power and as a result haven’t been able to match their rivals.
During the course of the summer, the club acquired one of their most high profile signings ever, as Nuno Gomes decided to call Estadio AXA his new home. However what has to be taken into account is that the veteran striker was a free transfer and did not
require a fee.
The likes of Helder Barbosa and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Braga-c40460 over the last few seasons were also acquired on Bosman deals and represent a shrewd transfer policy by the Arsenalists.
With the winter window open now, the Minhotos will be looking to add more players to their ranks and improve their overall quality, but are still going to stick to their tried and tested policy of not coughing up hefty amounts to lure their targets.
While that may not allow them to sign some of the best players in the game, it has allowed them recent success as demonstrated by their run to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals last term.
Club president, Antonio Salvador, knows the financial limits of his side and cannot buy his way to success with expensive spending sprees. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 Jardim has also been told that the only way to plug the gaps in his squad will be to scout players, who can
be acquired for free.
Although no names have been linked with the side in recent months, Braga will be keen to add some midfielders to their ranks. The team have some quality strikers in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuno-Gomes-c28237 but the centre of the park is what has been their
downfall as they have been unable to dominate proceedings.
The Minho Warriors lie 4th in the rankings, which was also the position they ended up last term. Rising up without any major spending is close to impossible but if the club acquires good players on free transfers, maybe their fortunes could change
this time around.
