SC Freiburg manager Marcus Sorg confident of an impressive performance against Leverkusen
SC Freiburg manager Marcus Sorg has stated that he is confident of putting in an impressive performance against Bayer Leverkusen. He is hopeful that his team will be able to win the match and surely get back on track after a disastrous
start to the ongoing season.
The club is currently sitting at the bottom of the Bundesliga standings table in 18th place with only seven points so far. They have lost a staggering seven times in the ten games played, winning just two times in the
process. Their form has been far from the performances last season when they ended up in ninth place under Robin Dutt.
Sorg claimed that the match is a special one for both teams as Bayer Leverkusen will play against his former club for the first time since leaving in the summer. He admitted that it will be a game ridden with emotions and a highly
competitive one.
Dutt guided Freiburg to the first division in the year 2009 after winning the 2.Bundesliga title and to a ninth place finish last term. Sorg insisted that Dutt deserves all the credit and stated that he expects a positive reception
for his counterpart in the fixture on Friday.
“Of course this game is something special, and not just for the both of us. I don't think tomorrow's game will be decided by tactics. We want to do all we can emotionally, energetically and technically to win this game,” he was
quoted as saying in an interview.
The tactician remained hopeful of a strong response from his side after the defeat at FC Kaiserslautern last week. He urged his players to step up and put in a determined display in a bid to secure all three points.
“Even if we know Robin and his ideas of football, the only thing which is important is that we try to play our best,” he concluded.

title.
