SC Freiburg’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johannes-Flum-c18823 disappointed with performance against Kaiserslautern- Bundesliga news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 midfielder Johannes Flum has expressed his disappointment on the team’s performance against FC Kaiserslautern in the recent Bundesliga defeat on Saturday. He claimed that the side lacked the determination and created
no chances whatsoever in the fixture which led to another loss in this campaign.
The club suffered their seventh defeat of the season in the ten games played so far courtesy a goal from Kaiserslautern striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Itay-Shechter-c17205 in the second-half. The team’s showings in the current campaign have been in complete
contrast to the displays in the previous season when they finished in an impressive ninth place with 44 points.
Flum claimed that Freiburg were far from their usual self against Kaiserslautern last week as they allowed the opposition too much space in the midfield and were poor defensively also. He insisted that his side did not have a single
shot on goal which definitely tells the story of how terrible they have been offensively.
Papiss Cisse had no support upfront which meant he put in an anonymous performance and struggled to deal with the brilliant defence of the home side.
“Overall we were far too harmless and rarely won the 50/50 challenges. Kaiserslautern were simply more forceful, while we failed to turn up. I can't remember us having a single shot on goal during the second half. I have no idea
how we expected to score like that,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German Under-20 international insisted that his side has been inconsistent throughout the season and failed to capitalize on the good performance against Hamburg at home the previous week. The midfielder claimed that the opposition
did not play football out of the world but still Freiburg failed to dominate.
“You can't find positives in a performance like that. The week before though, our good performance had failed to reap the rewards. We just couldn't find a way through to put FCK in any danger. That being said, FCK weren't that
great either,” he concluded.
SC Freiburg face a tough test against Robin Dutt’s Bayer Leverkusen next week at home. They will be looking to secure their third win of the league season and move out of the relegation zone.
