SC Freiburg striker, Papiss Demba Cisse, is on the verge of making a move to Volkswagen Arena before the transfer window closes on August 31. The player has continuously been in talks with Die Wolfe and could soon leave Freiburg despite being wanted badly
by the club.
Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath, told that he is ready to meet Freiburg’s asking amount for Cisse as he plans for a top four finish this season.
Magath was confident about the arrival of the Senegalese and has already asked other clubs not to take them easy this time around. He mentioned that Wolfsburg will bounce back from the horrors of the 2010/11 season and would definitely make Cisse’s arrival
possible for that purpose. Magath claimed that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international himself wants to leave Freiburg for better opportunities and Volkswagen Arena doors are always open for the 26-year-old.
Freiburg values the striker at 17.5 million Euros and Die Wolfe have agreed to pay such a big amount for the goalscoring machine. Wolfsburg initially made a 12 million Euro offer but the bid was rejected by the Badenova-Stadion officials. Now the club have
decided to meet Freiburg’s required amount and Die Wolfe officials have received a formal request by the manager to make the transfer possible.
Cisse attracted interest from various other European clubs at the conclusion of the last season but no outfit managed to meet the player’s price tag. Cisse was the second highest goalscorer in Bundesliga last term behind Mario Gomez with 22 goals.
The striker enthused that he would prefer playing in a side where he stands a chance of winning silverware. It is believed that the 26-year-old will soon be landing at Volkswagen Arena which would be a huge loss for Marcus Sorg’s Bresigau-Brasilianer.
Cisse has 28 league goals to his name so far from 38 appearances and also registered his name on the score sheet in the club’s opening week draw against FC Augsburg. The player’s next assignment is against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 on Saturday, August 13.
