SC Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse has admitted about his transfer talks with the fellow Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg. The player is expected to leave the club this season for Felix Magath’s side and Die Wolfe have already launched a 12 million Euro
bid for the Senegalese.
Freiburg officials, though, value the player in the region of 13 million Euros but could well let the player leave this summer.
Magath confirmed his intentions of leading his side back amongst the title challengers and desperately wanted to draft the 26-year-old into his squad. He believed that the striker could do wonders for his side and hailed his attitude with which he became
the second highest goalscorer last season. Cisse scored 22 goals during the 2010/11 Bundesliga campaign behind Bayern Munich’s attacking midfielder Mario Gomez, who bagged 28 goals.
Cisse confirmed about interest from Wolfsburg and also wished to earn himself a new journey in an anticipation of winning silverware. The striker reckoned that it would be a bigger challenge to stamp authority in Magath’s side but he will certainly relish
that opportunity in order to make his mark in front of the former title holders.
In an interview to a local news paper, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international enthused, "I have yet to talk to Felix Magath, this is currently being done by my agents. These people are working on this and we will have to see how things are to be developed."
Cisse was confident about the start of his new journey and was already looking forward to playing alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Helmes-c29274. The striker started his current campaign with a goal in Freiburg’s opening game against FC Augsburg, which ended all square at 2-2.
SC Freiburg manager, Marcus Sorg, on the other hand, was hopeful of retaining the Senegalese for yet another season. He found the Wolfsburg offer impressive but wanted Cisse to stay for one more term and win his side a place in Europe.
Sorg concluded by saying, "We are glad to have Papiss Demba Cisse at our club. Any club in the Bundesliga would be glad to have him available at their club."
Wolfsburg next play Bayern Munich on Saturday but Cisse is most likely to stay out of that game even if both clubs agree to the proposed 12 million Euro deal.
