The Bottom placed Bundesliga club, SC Freiburg, have revealed their striker Papiss Demba Cisse’s desire of parting ways with the club. The Senegalese wants to part ways with the badenova-Stadion outfit in favour of a big club move and is expected to leave
Freiburg during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Cisse was previously linked with a move to one of the top clubs like Manchester United or Bayern Munich. Both the clubs, though, were unable to inspire Freiburg with their final offer, allowing the Senegalese to stay at the club.
This came as a surprise for most football pundits who were tipping the 26-year-old to part ways during summer. Cisse, who has always stressed on playing for a top side, is once again having an outstanding season with the club and currently has seven goals
to his name from 10 league games.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international was the second highest goal scorer last season behind Mario Gomez but still was unable to achieve anything big with the club.
While talking to Kicker, Freiburg sporting director Dirk Dufner added, “For us he’s a key player, but his desire is to play for a big club. For us the important thing is that he ends the season here.”
The player himself told of his wish to part ways with the club but was unsure whether he would stay past January or depart during winters.
He further expressed his desire of winning silverware on a consistent basis for which he would have to consider a move out of badenova-Stadion. He further encouraged Freiburg officials to indulge some new faces into the squad in order to increase the winning
chances.
Cisse joined Freiburg in 2010 and has an incredible goalscoring record. The striker has 35 goals to his name from 58 league appearances until now and will next be seen in action against 14th placed FC Nurnberg.
Freiburg are currently struggling to cope with the pace and still need five points to get clear of the relegation zone.
