The 22-year-old has denied leaving his club halfway through the season despite Ajax Amsterdam, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Groningen-c39119’s interest.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daryl-Janmaat-c10384, has asserted that he would not be leaving his current club in the ongoing winter transfer market.
The 22-year-old arrived at Abe Lenstra Stadion in the summer of 2008 after making 25 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 with consistent performances at the back for the Friesland outfit.
The Dutch stopper’s impressive performances garnered him interest from several Eredivisie clubs such as Ajax Amsterdam, Vitesse Arnhem, FC Groningen and the Rotterdammers.
Janmaat has an expiring contract with the outfit from Friesland that runs until the end of the 2011/12 campaign, and reports indicate that the club management could offload the player rather than losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
However, the 22-year-old has clearly expressed his desire that he would prefer moving away from Abe Lenstra Stadion in the summer rather than leaving in the ongoing January transfer window.
“It's hard to go somewhere else in the middle of a season. I would prefer to join another club in the summer”, Janmaat said while talking to the media.
Ajax are thought to be the favourites to land the 22-year-old’s signature, as they are looking for a possible replacement for Gregory van der Wiel, who is reportedly set to join http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 in the summer.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michihiro-Yasuda-c25503. Although the 24-year-old has thus far played brilliantly on the right-back position, the club management are thought to be taking precautionary measures should any defender sustain an injury in the second-half of the season.
Meanwhile, the Rotterdam giants and the outfit from Groningen’s are looking to sign a good defender to strengthen their back-line and Janmaat seems like a perfect candidate for both the clubs.
The Heerenveen management would be hoping that any of these clubs table bids in the ongoing transfer market to lure the 22-year-old away from Abe Lenstra Stadion.
