The 2.Bundesliga side have announced the appointment of Stephan Schmidt as the new manager for next season.

to miss and is eager to lead the side to further success in the future.
Schmidt will take over from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roger-c31516 Schmidt, who left the side to manage Austrian club FC Red Bull Salzburg. Roger guided the team to a fifth place finish last season which was considered to be a major achievement by many considering
the competition involved.
SC Paderborn finished behind the likes of Greuther Furth, Eintracht Frankfurt, Fortuna Dusseldorf and FC St. Pauli with 61 points and were deprived of a promotion play-off by a mere one point in the end.
Stephan Schmidt claimed that to manage the 2.Bundesliga side is the next big step in his coaching career. He admitted that he has gained a lot of experience managing the Wolfsburg youth side for the past three years and it will
be logical for him to now test his skill in a bigger role.
The tactician admitted that his new club is known to provide young managers a great environment for management and he surely wants to avail that opportunity. He insisted that with the few meetings he has had with the club officials,
he feels that he can take the club forward as the side is determined and passionate.
“After three successful years working with a Bundesliga youth side this assignment is the next logical step. SC Paderborn are well-known for providing young coaches with a familiar environment and a chance in professional football.
I felt that confidence from the very beginning of our positive discussions and am convinced that together we can be successful,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Stephan Schmidt has signed a two-year deal with the second division club and will manage the team into next season. There will be huge expectations from the young manager as the side finished fifth last season.
