In the previous edition of the German Women’s National Volleyball Cup, SCHWERINER SC could not advance to the final round of the tournament. They were detracted by the Smart Allianz STUTTGART in the early stages of the competition.
However, Dutch head coach Teun Buijs, put body, mind, and soul in 2011 and led the team to success. Moreover, SCHWERINER SC was lucky to play three matches at home. They used the competitive edge and pulled up consecutive victories.
SCHWERINER SC defeated tough teams such as SC POTSDAM and VT Aurubis HAMBURG, in order to reserve a berth in the final round.
The semi-final on December 31st was the most important match for SCHWERINER SC in 2011 at national level. VC WiesBaden was not an easy rival as team was equipped with experienced players. Nevertheless, the Schwerin ‘force’ did not feel any pressure and played
a normal game. They started out well and kept their focus on the ball. Good attack strategy and solid defence allowed SCHWERINER to score a straight set win over opponent. WIESBADEN remained remarkably close to SCHWERINER’s score but failed to clinch success.

to win.
Now that SCHWERINER SC is in the final, the fans expect the same high-energy act from the team. Team captain Julia Retzlaff and rest of the players are working hard to prepare for the final match. Michael Döring is attached with the team as physical trainer
