  1. If the bean is cooked it will not grow. You might want to tailor your experiment germination rates with exposure to heat in increments. Cheap sources of clean bean seeds can be had from the grocery store as bagged whole dry kidney beans. Lots/ groups of 10 seeds exposed to increased heat (source) then sprouted (in paper towels) will show dramatically the drop off temperature point, but as this is also dependent on time at temperature, you have your work cut out. It will make a great graph, though, especially if you can do a 3-D graph with temp, germination percent, and time spent at temp. You will need a couple pound bags and don't forget to do a sample sprouting for a germination rate for your seeds before you start.

  2. There are many farms and agriculture centers all over the world today. They all plant raw seeds, which result to all the vegetables, and fruit we eat as food. Yet, when beans are cooked for a few minutes, they may become more fertile because they have already absorbed some water. Heat from cooking may destroy many harmful bacteria resulting in healthier plants also. But everything is going to depend on how long you cook them. the "germ" in the seed is the part that grows into a new plant. I you kill the germ, the plant won't grow.
